PROJECTS OF DWELLING AND LIVING CONDITIONS IMPROVEMENT OF ROMA POPULATION

President of Palilula Boban Džunić and his associates received the delegation of the Ecumenical Humanitarian Organization (EHO) from Novi Sad. In the framework of the "Social inclusion and improvement of living conditions of Roma populationj in the Republic of Serbia", this non-governmental Christian organization, which programs are based on human rights and focused are on social development, according to Sladjana Jovanovic, project coordinator, is realizing the activities with interested partners on the "Legalization and reconstruction of substandard Roma settlements based on the needs of their residents."

To improve living conditions in Roma settlements EHO - Roma Resource Center has developed a unique model of work with the Roma community - "Sustainable renewal of Roma settlements with building by themselves". This working model, said Sladjana Jovanovic includes a comprehensive approach to solving existing problems and participative work methods that offer the possibility of building bathrooms, reconstruction of houses and the construction of small houses.

In this discussion participated Igor Paunovic, Coordinator for Roma issues Palilula Municipality, Alexander Ždrale, Deputy President of the Palilula Municipal Assembly, Nikola Bozic, project manager.
